I’m sure everyone has heard about the reception problems with the new iPhone 4. Apple are usually good at avoiding this type of problem, but it just proves that even big companies considered to be ahead of the game sometimes get it wrong. They have recently announced that they will be giving away free bumper cases to everyone who has an iPhone 4. These case resolve the poor signal issue. This may go some way to repair any damage they have done to their reputation. Some people feel they should have recalled phones for a proper hardware fix, this may still come if problems persist.
It is a great solution but apple should not have denied the issue in the beginning and offer advice such as “hold the phone a different way”….that ruined thier image.

I own a repair company http://iphonerepair4less.com/ and i have dealt with a number of iphone 4 users. For some reason i personally havent had anyone complain about losing reception by holding it a certain way. My opinion is that since it made the news it gave alot of people something to complain about even if it didnt affect them.

The crazy thing is – this sort of “failed product release” could be devastating (even on a far smaller scale) to most companies, yet it seems that Apple are going to get away from it with only the equivalent of a minor reputation dent.
Guaranteed noone is seriously thinking twice about buying their iPhone 4 because of it – nor will it harm the iPhone 5 in due course.
I can’t think of another gadget/device/system where the brand loyalty is so strong as to carry through a half-hearted response to a serious problem like this!

It is amazing how Apple seem to be able to avoid any negative PR tarnishing their reputation. The Apple die-hard fans are just so loyal (and rich).
